For 115 years the Youngstown Steam System has provided steam service in Youngstown's Central Business District. We are a reliable, lower cost and environmentally friendly way to not only heat but also cool your downtown area buildings. Youngstown Thermal provides steam for space heating, hot water heating and absorption chilling to more than 77 buildings. This district energy system eliminates the cost and liability of operating and maintaining boilers and chillers in each building. Soon, much of our steam will be produced with renewable energy sources, making it one of the cleanest, most environmentally sound energy solutions available.
